[00:00:04]

>> PRESIDENT B. MICHAEL: IT'S NOW 7:30.

I'M GOING TO CALL THE MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, MEETING -- JOINT MEETING OF THE WORTHINGTON CITY COUNCIL SHARON TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES TO ORDER. MS. THRESS, CAN YOU PLEASE CALL THE ROLL?

>> PRESIDENT B. MICHAEL: EVERYOE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG.

[4. Board Appointment]

GOING TO MOVE INTO BOARD APPOINTMENTS FOR THE WALNUT GROVE AND FLINT UNION CEMETERY BOARD.

MR. GREESON, ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD?

>> M. GREESON: TO WELCOME THE TRUSTEES.

IT'S ALWAYS GOOD TO SEE YOU. IF THERE IS ANY QUESTIONS, PRESIDENT MICHAEL, WE WOULD BE GLAD TO ANSWER.

THIS IS YOUR CUSTOMARY ANNUAL APPOINTMENT OF ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE WALNUT GROVE UNION CEMETERY BOARD OF TRUSTEES. AND I BELIEVE IT'S MR. OBERLE'S APPOINTMENT THAT IS UP AT THIS POINT.

>> I'M NERVOUS. THAT'S RIGHT.

>> PRESIDENT B. MICHAEL: I WILL ENTERTAIN A MOTION FOR APPOINTING A NEW TRUSTEE TO THE CEMETERY BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

WHO WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THAT MOTION?

>> PRESIDENT B. MICHAEL: MOVED B Y MS. DOROTHY, DO WE HAVE A SECOND. WE HAVE A MOTION AND SECOND.

ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION? >> R. DOROTHY: I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH JOHN OBERLE FOR THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS AND HE'S BEEN DILIGENT. AND MAKING SURE WE MOVE FORWARD AND VERY METHODICAL WAY THAT WE'RE DEFINITELY AND WE UNDERSTAND WE'RE INTRUSTEED WITH THE PUBLIC GOOD FOR MAKING SURE WE IMPROVE THE CEMETERIES, THE WALNUT GROVE AND FLINT ROAD CEMETERY. WE DO HAVE A CHARGE TO BE RESPONSIBLE WITH THE UBLIC FUNDING FOR THAT.

IT IS ALSO FUNDED BY A PRIVATE MONEY WITH WHAT WE GET FROM PEOPLE WHO PURCHASE GRAVESITES. AND SITES TO ENSURE THEIR LOVED ONES FOREVER. AND ALSO THE MEMORIALS LACED IN THERE. AND HE DOES A PHENOMENAL JOB MAKING SURE WE BALANCE BOTH THE WHOLE PUBLIC TRUST THAT THOSE SPACES ARE PARK LIKE ENTITIES. IT IS USED FOR PUBLIC FUNDS TO MAINTAIN THEM. THEY ARE PRIVATE AND SPECIAL FOR PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. JOHN DOES A PHENOMENAL JOB.

WE HAVE MONTHLY MEETINGS BUT HE WORKS DEFINITELY OVERTIME ABOVE AND BEYOND THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE YEAR AND MAKING SURE WE DO A GREAT JOB. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM CONTINUE

ON IN THAT ROLE. >> PRESIDENT, I DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE CAMPAIGNS AS HARD AS MR. OBERLE.

WHENEVER I WAS OUT IN THE STREETS KNOCKING ON DOORS, I WOULD SEE HIM. IF YOU EXECUTE AS DILIGENTLY AS YOU CAMPAIGN, I HAVE NO DOUBT YOU WILL DO A GOOD JOB.

WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO SAY WHAT HE DOES?

>> THANK YOU FOR THE KIND REMARKS.

IT'S NOT REALLY JUST ME. I THINK THE REASON I DO WHAT I DO ON THIS BOARD IS BECAUSE OF THE LEADERSHIP OF THE BOARD.

COURTNEY CHAPMAN HAS BROUGHT THIS GROUP TOGETHER.

WE HAVE A GREAT STAFF WITH TOM KAYATTI AND ELAINE RUSSELL AND THE TEAM. THEY DO INCREDIBLE WORK.

THEN WE HAVE AN ADVISORY BOARD. AND I THINK THEY DO THE HEAVY LIFTING WITH THE STAFF, WITH COURTNEY IN BRINGING THE DIVISION OF CEMETERIES. I WILL CHARGE YOU IF YOU GO LOOK AT ANY PUBLIC CEMETERIES, I DON'T THINK YOU WILL SEE CEMETERIES BETTER RUN THAN OURS. I THINK THE COST EFFECTIVENESS FOR RESIDENTS ARE THERE. THEY ARE GETTING VALUE, NOT ONLY A VALUE IN THEIR MOST SIGNIFICANT TIME OF NEED WHEN THEY LOST A LOVED ONE BUT THEY ALSO HAVE A PARK.

WHEN I'M NOT CAMPAIGNING, A LOT OF TIMES I LIVE NEAR WALNUT GROVE AND I'LL WALK THROUGH THERE.

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL PARK-LIKE SETTING.

WITH HAVING PEOPLE LIKE RACHEL, WE BRING THINGS BACK TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, I THINK WE'RE MOTIVATED BY THE OPPORTUNITY.

WALNUT GROVE IS FULLY ESTABLISHED.

[00:05:03]

WE HAVE VERY FEW SPOTS LEFT. NOW IT'S MAINTENANCE, MAKING GOOD LONG-TERM STRATEGIC DECISIONS.

AND MAKING FLINT ROAD CEMETERY A GEM.

WE ACQUIRED THROUGH LEGAL AGREEMENT WITH WORTHINGTON, WE'VE ACQUIRED THE OSEM GARDNER PROPERTY.

IT'S GOING TO BE A BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY WHEN DONE.

I THINK IT'S GOING TO BE A SHOWCASE FOR THE CEMETERY.

I THINK IT WILL HELP DRAW THE SALES.

WE EXPANDED THE LIFE OF THE CEMETERY BECAUSE OF THAT.

I THINK IT WILL BE COST EFFECTIVE.

I WOULD BE REMISS WITHOUT THTHANKING TOM LINDSAY FOR HIS SUPPORT. WE HAVE LEGAL ISSUES AND A CONTRACT COMING UP. WITHOUT HIS EXPERTISE, WE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO FULFILL DUTIES.

IT'S AN HONOR TO SERVE. I WANT TO TAKE RACHEL AND DAVID WITH ME ANYWHERE I GO. I THANK YOU FOR THE KIND COMMENTS. IT'S A PLEASURE TO BE REAPPOINTED IF THE VOTES GO MY WAY.

>> PRESIDENT B. MICHAEL: IS THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? LET'S DO A ROLL CALL, MS. THRESS.

>> D. KAY THRESS: CONGRATULATE THE CEMETERY BOARD. I REMEMBER COMING TO MEETINGS SAYING I WISH THEY WOULD DO SOMETHING AT FLINT ROAD WHEN T WAS NOTHING BUT VACANT SPACE. AND THE BEAUTIFUL JOB THE CEMETERY BOARD HAS DONE AND THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND STAFF, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL JOB AND A TREMENDOUS IMPROVEMENT YOU MADE IN HOW YOU MADE IT A MEANINGFUL PLACE FOR EVERYONE.

I WANT TO THANK THE BOARD FOR THAT.

I'VE SEEN THE YEARS AND CHANGES. AND CAN'T BE MORE PROUD TO BE PART OF A GROUP THAT CELEBRATES AND HELPS CONTINUE THIS WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL CEMETERY BOARD.

[5. Other]

OKAY. DO WE HAVE ANYTHING ELSE? ANY OTHER DISCUSSION ITEMS AT THIS TIME?

>> M. GREESON: NO, MA'AM. >> PRESIDENT B. MICHAEL: I WANT TO THANK THE STAFF. YOU DO A GREAT, TREMENDOUS JOB.

AND AT BOTH CEMETERIES. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION AND THE WONDERFUL RESULTS YOU ARE BRINGING. I'LL TAKE A MOTION TO ADJOURN.

SECOND? >> PRESIDENT B. MICHAEL: OKAY.

ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION? IF NOT, ALL THOSE IN FAVOR,
